Leaning In

Nothing Linear

Ōtautahi/Christchurch

A stand-up comedy show highlighting some of the funniest people in Nelson and beyond, who all just happen to not be men!

Featuring:
Aimée Borlase, part-time Nelsonian. Aimée is a classic millennial triple threat (comedian-singer-executive assistant). Despite her vast stage experience, she is often most celebrated for her typing speed and ability to keep houseplants alive.

Lark Wilson
Described as a 'hidden gem' of the NZ comedy scene, Lark is one of the country's most exciting and original comedic talents. She will charm you with her idiosyncratic stage presence and poignant punchlines, all while making a visual statement with her own unique style.

Jennifer-Rose
Jennifer Rose dropped into stand-up comedy in 2022 in Wellington, learning her craft in the various pubs & clubs around Courtenay Place, before venturing further afield. In 2022, She was a finalist in the Welly Awards for best new artist, as well as for best out of town performer in Palmerston North. Since moving to Nelson, she pops up here and there around Tasman, Christchurch, and Wellington.

Nicola Brown
Nicola Brown is a comedian, speaker, writer, MC and clinical psychologist. She lives in Ōtepoti Dunedin with her wife and son, a miniature schnauzer and a cat who specialises in rodent relocation. Nicola can't help observing the ridiculousness of everyday life with her 'whimsical sense of depressive irony.' She's irreverent, deadpan and wields a PowerPoint slide deck like her life depends on it. Her debut comedy show (Space Invaders) has won multiple awards, including Outstanding Comedy at Auckland Fringe Festival in 2024, and will be touring internationally in 2026.

Leaning In is produced by Molly Wilkin, former Nelsonian. Molly has hit the comedy scene at full speed, coming in second at the Good Times Comedy Club Fresh Competition 2023, and impressing everyone with her dark humour, wild tangents and dynamic energy.
