Can’t Hear Her Voice

Down With Mondays

Whakatū / Nelson

Dave has put his heart and soul into raising his only daughter. But what happens to him if something happens to her? Written by Jim Risner (Only One Choice, 2022 Nominee, Best of Nelson Fringe) Can't Hear Her Voice looks at the pressures and consequences of an intense relationship and what happens when someone acts before thinking.

Dave is trying his best to raise his daughter all by himself. Beth’s mother has passed on but Dave knew her so well that he can still feel her presence in the house. Her words still comfort and guide him.

Beth and Dave are close to inseparable at first but then as Beth inevitably grows up he feels them growing apart. When teenage rebellion kicks in Dave’s protective streak takes over and the situation spirals out of control.

What would his wife say? We may never know.
